How to Apply for the Amalgamated Bank Visa Business Bonus Rewards/Rewards Plus Card

If you are a business owner looking for a new company credit option, especially if you already bank with Amalgamated Bank, you should take a look at either the Amalgamated Bank Visa Business Bonus Rewards or the Bonus Rewards Plus Card. These cards both offer a standard rewards program of 1 point per dollar spent, however, the cardholders of the Bonus Rewards Card will receive a 25% bonus each month on all points accumulated that billing cycle while those in possession of a Bonus Rewards PLUS Card will receive a bonus of 50%. So essentially, the Bonus Rewards Card and Bonus Rewards Plus Card will net you 1.25 or 1.5 points per dollar spent monthly, respectively. Another difference between the two cards are that the Bonus Rewards Card awards you a $25 cash back bonus after your first purchase and has no annual fee, whereas the Bonus Rewards PLUS Card gets you $50 cash back after your first purchase and has an annual fee of $50. Aside from these differences, both cards are identical. They both have a credit score-based assigned APR ranging from 12.49% to 23.49% (APR is subject to change), a 0% introductory APR for the first 6 billing cycles, and both carry the same associated fees for cash advances and the like. Of the two options, the Bonus Rewards Card is less expensive and only offers .25 less points, which may be offset by the lack of an annual fee (depending on how many points you expect to accumulate). To be eligible for this credit card you have to meet the following criteria:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a valid US address
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Have a valid business tax ID number

How to Apply

Step 1 – To begin the application process, you will first need to go to the Amalgamated Bank credit card page hosted by EFS. Scroll down until you have located the Amalgamated Bank Visa Business Bonus Rewards Card and Rewards Plus Card options and click the Apply Now link beneath the card that you wish to apply for.


Step 2 – You can now begin filling out your application by providing the following information regarding your business:

  • Business name to appear on cards
  • Name of business
  • Business tax ID
  • Complete address (including suite #, city, state, and ZIP code)


Step 3 – Next, you will need to provide all the additional company information listed below.

  • Years at address
  • Year business started
  • Business phone number
  • Gross annual sales
  • Legal structure
  • Nature of business
  • Type of industry
  • Country of formation
  • Number of countries with offices

Below that, in the dark grey field, use the drop down menu to indicate Yes or No as to whether you would like to enroll in the cash access program which gives you easy access to convenience checks and cash advances.


Step 4 – If you currently have any existing accounts with Amalgamated Bank, select Yes next to the type of account and provide the necessary information.


Step 5 – At this juncture, as the business owner, you will need to provide the following personal information:

  • Business owner type
  • Full name
  • SSN
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Complete address (including apartment #, city, state, and ZIP code)


Step 6 – To complete this section, provide the information listed below as necessary in regards to your situation.

  • Alternate mailing address (if applicable)
  • Annual income
  • Ownership percentage
  • Whether you are a current or former political official or close to one


Step 7 – Here, if you would like to make a balance transfer from an existing credit card to your new one, select Yes and enter the required information. Next, you can add additional cardholders by clicking Yes beside either or both Beneficial Owners (must have at least a 25% stake in the company) and Employee Cards. Provide the necessary information for each additional cardholder.


Step 7 -Now that you have finished filling out your application, you will need to read through the terms and conditions for this card and accept them by ticking the little box marked I accept the Terms and Conditions. When you are ready, click the Submit button to submit your application.
