If you are having a hard time successfully applying for a credit card, odds are that you’re lacking in creditworthiness and that you need to build or rebuild your credit score. One option to get on the right track is to apply for a secured credit card. With a secured credit card, you will need to make a mandatory security deposit during the creation of the account, the amount of which will determine and be equal to your credit limit. The financial institution that issues your credit card will then have the right to draw from this deposit in the event that your payment is late. With this extra security, you will avoid damaging your credit score and will start rebuilding your current rating. If you happen to live in Macomb County, you may be interested in applying for the First State Bank Secured Visa Card. The APR for this credit option is set at 21.49% (subject to change), which is quite high, but you can consider this another incentive to keep up-to-date with your payments.
