The Citi Diamond Preferred® Card is best known as a low-cost balance-transfer and intro-APR card. It has no annual fee, long 0% intro APR offers on purchases and balance transfers, and very little focus on rewards or perks.
Most users say the biggest draw is the breathing room it gives on interest. Many reviewers mentioned using it to pay down existing debt or finance large purchases without racking up interest right away. Cardholders also tend to like the simple fee structure and the lack of an annual fee.
On the flip side, the biggest complaint is clear: no rewards. Many users feel they’re missing out on cash back or points they could earn elsewhere. Some also note the balance transfer fee and high ongoing APR after the intro period as downsides.
Personally, I think this card works best for people focused on debt payoff or short-term financing, not everyday spending. If your goal is to save on interest, it’s solid. But if you want rewards or travel perks, you’ll find far better value elsewhere.
I opened this card to transfer a balance, and the long 0% intro APR honestly saved me. No flashy rewards, but it did exactly what I need while I paid down debt stress-free
This card works well if you want a long 0% intro APR period for purchases and balance transfers (first 21 months), which is great for big purchases or consolidating debt. There’s no annual fee, which is nice. But the downside is customer service: it’s frustrating to deal with everything feels automated, and it’s hard to get real help sometimes.
even if you do get a person on the phone-- and everything about the voice tree is designed to keep you from doing so-- their hands will be tied when it comes to fixing your problem. This company is the ANTI- american express. The worst.
I recently double paid online by mistake. When the 1st double payment showed in my account I called Citi who within 2 days refunded one of the payments. Now the nightmare begins. Citi auto requests payments by computer, not with a call, when they are late. The returned payment by my bank was seen as a non payment even though it was fixed by phone by me and Citi. So the computer sent another request for the returned payment. And to insult to injury, they do it 3 times. So for another 2 weeks all the payments made out of my bank account bounced. Why, because Citi notified me they have no way of deleting the request once it launched. The lesson here is - don't drag a finger, inadvertently click a mouse, or expect anyone at Citi to make sense.
its a good card
