The TD Canada Trust Aeroplan Visa Infinite Credit Card is geared toward Canadian travellers who want Aeroplan points and Air Canada perks. It currently has a $139 annual fee, rebated in the first year, with up to 50,000 Aeroplan points available through the welcome and anniversary offers. Cardholders can also earn up to 1.5 points per $1 on eligible groceries, gas/EV charging, and Air Canada purchases, plus receive a free first checked bag on Air Canada flights and NEXUS fee rebates.
Most users say the Air Canada benefits, travel insurance, and Aeroplan rewards make the card appealing, particularly for frequent flyers and families. Many reviewers mentioned the free checked bag for up to eight companions as a particularly useful perk.
On the downside, some find the $139 annual fee difficult to justify, especially if they rarely fly Air Canada. Reviewers also point out the lack of airport lounge access and relatively modest 1.5x maximum earn rate.
Personally, I think it makes the most sense for regular Air Canada travellers who can consistently use the Aeroplan rewards and travel perks; occasional travellers may find the annual fee harder to offset.
I thought the travel perks would be amazing, but the points system is confusing and rewards take forever to redeem. The high annual fee didn't feel justified for the benefits I actually used.
I use this card mainly for travel and everyday spending. I earn Aeroplan points quickly and have already booked a couple of flights. The travel benefits and insurance give me peace of mind when I travel. The annual fee is noticeable but I think it is worth it for frequent flyers.
