They do their very best to ensure you do not use points for a cruise. BarclayCard "redemption specialists" will tell you that they can only do air, car rentals and hotel - although the website lists using it for cruises. IF you can get through (you have to know a secret code to enter at just the right time in the phone sequence), you need to talk to a "Customer Relationship Specialist." Then you'll find out you can only redeem after you've paid the full amount of your cruise (normally 90 days before sailing) - and then a couple of days after posting (but you have to use the points within 180s of posting, so don't pay early and then wait for the points!). As well, they admitted the 'system' doesn't always work (!) unless you have enough points to cover the entire cost of the cruise: if it doesn't, you have to call them and they have to do it manually. As well, over the past year, they've also lowered the reward you get towards a cruise. DON'T USE THIS CARD; use a generic travel credit card. BarclayCards representatives are incompetent (in truth, three lied to me, I feel). Terrible rewards and worse customer service.
