For Charter Oak Credit Union members interested in applying for one of their Visa Platinum credit cards we have created a helpful guide to the application process below. The cards have different rates and fees, displayed below, that may appeal to individuals in differing financial situations.

 

Once you’ve decided which card you prefer you may continue to the application. Before beginning please make sure you take a look through the Charter Oak online privacy policy to ensure your information will be handled discreetly.

Requirements

You must meet these requirements in order to apply successfully:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a valid US social security number
• Have a US address
• Have a government-issued ID
• Be eligible for Charter Oak Credit Union membership

How to Apply

The secure application for the Visa Platinum credit cards is available from their summary page where they offer some introductory information on the credit cards. Simply navigate to the page and select the apply online today link.

 

Step 1- Loan Details

You first much chose which card you would like to apply for and for what requested amount. At this point you must also state your membership qualifications if you are not a current member and decide whether you will be applying with a co-applicant.

 

Should you desire a co-applicant and click the box stating such, the following popup menu will appear by which you can state exactly the type of co-applicant you will be utilizing.

 

 

If you would like debt protection indicate as such and a representative will call you after you apply to detail the service.

Step 2- Personal

Enter the following personal data into the provided fields to proceed with the application:

• Email address
• Full name
• Date of birth
• SSN
• ID type, issuance, number, and expiry
• Marital status

Step 3- Residence

Enter your residence information here, including your:

• Address
• Phone number
• Duration at listed address
• Housing type
• Monthly payment
• Landlord or lender

    

Select next to continue.

Step 4- Employment

Enter the following employment information here:

• Employment status
• Employer
• Employer address
• Position
• Time at employer
• Employer phone
• Income frequency
• Gross income

 

Step 5- Financial

Enter additional incomes and debt sources for this section of the application.

Select next to continue.

Step6- Finalization

Answer the following three litigation questions presented, enter any additional comments, read over the disclosures and submit. For the specific terms for each card, please see the Visa Platinum and Visa Platinum Variable disclosures, as well as the overall Visa Terms and Conditions.
